Harnessing the Power of Breath: Evidence-Based Strategies to Enhance Wellbeing
Have you ever considered the power of breath? Learn how deep breathing, an evidence-based practice, can strengthen students’ self-awareness and self-management, preparing them for academic success and future challenges. Join us for hands-on breathing strategies that are easy to implement in any setting, supported by scientific research on stress reduction and emotional regulation.
Objectives:

Participants will be able to explain the science behind how deep breathing supports emotional regulation and stress reduction, including the roles of the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems.

Participants will be able to demonstrate at least three trauma-informed, evidence-based breathing and relaxation strategies appropriate for both elementary and high school students.

Participants will develop a plan to integrate simple, age-appropriate breathing and relaxation techniques into their daily interactions with students to support emotional wellbeing and readiness to learn.
